Aterrizaje 2030 is an initiative of Redonda&CO and OnCities2030, two non-profit associations that are committed to accelerating sustainable solutions through actions closely linked to the urban development. The initiative is an evolution of the “Trashumante” project which, since its inauguration at ARCO in 2005, has developed its activities throughout Europe linking sustainability, art, science, technology and society.

The initiative is an adaptation of the Aterrizaje Madrid project created by artistic curator Laura López Paniagua for Redonda&Co. Aterrizaje Madrid was conceived as a think tank that would be a meeting point for diverse areas of activity, academic disciplines, and actors from the administration and civil society to collectively face the challenges of the so-called Anthropocene.

Aterrizaje 2030 is promoted by Redonda&CO and OnCities2030, and is hosted by Trashumante which, since its inauguration at ARCO in 2005, has developed its activity throughout Europe linking sustainability, art, science, technology and society.

Trashumante is an alternative exhibition space for art projects created by sculptor Eduardo Cajal located in the fuselage of a DC-9 rescued from a plane crash in 1992. Cajal and designer Mercedes Lienas rescued the plane from a junkyard and turned it into an itinerant art space.
